Why is Matt a Benefit Auctioneer?
As a Hairy Cell Leukemia survivor, the first galas I supported benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society who developed the treatment that put me into remission. Ben Farrell of Custom Benefit Auctions was their auctioneer. I was blown away at his command of the audience and the huge amounts of money that he helped raise. As Board Chair of LLS, I developed a relationship with Ben that has turned into a deeper partnership.
My life experiences have brought me to benefit auctioneering. I have spent my career in event management (Director of Logistics at Charlotte Motor Speedway along with General Manager positions in professional baseball and hockey); I am a lifelong entrepreneur who understands the principles of generating revenue; and I have enjoyed speaking in public to large crowds.
Being a benefit auctioneer allows me to put all three of these strengths to work for each of my non-profit partners. Doing what I’m good at plus doing what I enjoy plus helping so many worthy causes is the perfect combination for me!
